If you walk around the Snowsports Tradeshow, ISPO Winter, or even the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, you hear the same boring debate each year in the insulation category: natural fibers versus synthetic fibers. You’ll hear about the latest developments in loft, fiber structure, water resistance, design, and more—but they’re still talking about the same old stuff. It seems that giving it a new name and different packaging qualifies it to be called “the next generation” or “new technology.” What happened to true innovation?

Allow us to introduce you to Klymit’s Noble Gas Insulation. When was the last time you heard someone talk about insulating outdoor gear and apparel with Argon, Krypton, or Xenon gas? That’s what we thought—never…

Klymit invites you to dust the cobwebs off your high school chemistry book and learn about why Noble Gases are the answer to the insulation debate. Is it natural fibers? Is it synthetic fibers? Or is it a molecular heat barrier? We don’t dwell too much on the periodic table either, so here is a simple explanation as to why the Klymit Noble Gases are the answer:

The 7 Benefits of Klymit
  1. Variable: Increase or decrease the amount of insulation in your product at the touch of a button—turning your windbreaker into your ski parka whenever you’d like.

  2. Weightless: What’s lighter than noble gases? “Heavy gases” are actually much lighter than any fabric or fiber, which means lighter products and greater freedom.

  3. Loft Retaining: Unlike synthetic and natural insulations that will pack out up to 40% within the first year, Klymit insulation will always retain its ability to insulate and will never pack out.

  4. Warm When Wet: While other products get 3-4 times colder when wet, you can completely submerge Klymit insulation without losing warmth—the gas doesn’t get wet.

  5. Thin: There’s no more need for bulky products that sacrifice mobility for warmth—Klymit insulation performs just as well at 5-10mm thin as most insulations do at 15-30mm thick.

  6. Trap the Heat: Noble gases used in the Klymit Technology are more effective at insulating than existing insulations—enabling you to harness your body’s natural warmth and suit it to your needs.

  7. Eco-Friendly: You will never see our insulation in a land fill. The Klymit insulation is extracted from the air that you breathe and the canisters are recyclable. The gas is safe and widely used today.
